Creating a new NHS England: NHS England and NHS Digital merged on 1 February 2023. More about the merger.

Architecture

Cloud Architecture describes how components are brought together to form a cloud as well as how applications are built on the cloud platforms.

Overview

The CCoE provides recommendations and describes best practices to help architects, developers, administrators, and other cloud practitioners design and operate a cloud topology that is secure, efficient, resilient, performant, cost effective, and compliant.

The CCoE, in conjunction with application architects continues to develop patterns and solutions aimed at making the transition to cloud hosting a smooth one.

As there is already a wealth of information about architecture standards in other areas of the NHS Digital website, this page aims to do two things: signpost the reader to the relevant areas and connect the reader to the community of practice.
