CIS2 Authentication release 12.0.02

CIS2 Authentication will release version 12.0.02 on 10 August 2026, subject to final approval.

Fix for an issue affecting the display of authenticators

This release resolves an issue where Registration Authority users managing a large number of organisations were unable to view all available authenticator options and could only see smartcards on their profiles. 

We expect there to be no downtime during the release.

What this means for you

Health and social care professionals:

• should experience no visible changes and no impact to authentication is expected

Organisations providing IT support for health and social care professionals:

• should experience no visible changes and no impact to authentication is expected.

Health and social care application suppliers:

• should experience no visible changes and no impact to authentication is expected.

Registration Authority users:

• users managing a large number of organisations should now be able to view the full list of available authenticators in Care Identity Management
• users who were not impacted by this issue will see no change
