Announcement of changes to Provisional Accident and Emergency Quality Indicators for England
The proposed changes include improving the format of the publication files. The csv file will change to an open data format, the excel will be replaced by tables within the dashboard and csv and an improved metadata will support these changes. The measures referencing “longest wait” will be removed from the publication after concluding they provide poor insight and quantitative information for the users. Additionally, the publication will include data for a rolling time period rather than starting in April.
The first publication to be affected by this change will be the release on 9th March, which will include data to January 2022.
The impact of the above changes on Provisional Accident and Emergency Quality Indicators for England is expected to be:
- Outputs will meet open data standards and best practice
- Improved user experience
- Consistent documentation and metadata aligned with NHS Digital publications
- Reduced number of measures
Information about how you use the publication, including the measures referring to “longest wait”, and feedback on the publication is welcomed and should be submitted using the Form here https://forms.office.com/e/FXXcn7YE9C
