National cancer waiting times monitoring (SCCI0147) Directions 2016
Directions given by NHS England requiring NHS Digital to establish and operate a system for the collection of information to be known as the national cancer waiting times monitoring information system.
Purpose
To monitor cancer waiting times targets and plan service improvements. NHS organisations, cancer networks and the Department of Health can obtain reports and feedback on the progress towards meeting these targets.
Legal basis
Sections 254(1), (3) and (6) of the Health and Social Care Act 2012.
The Directions came into force on 3 March 2016.
