National diabetes audit directions 2017
Directions given by NHS England requiring NHS Digital to establish and operate a system for the collection of information to be known as the National Diabetes audit information system.
Purpose
Through participation in the audit, local services can benchmark their performance and identify where they are performing well and improve the quality of treatment and care they provide to patients.
Legal basis
Sections 254(1), (3) and (6) of the Health and Social Care Act 2012.
This Direction comes into force 15 May 2017.
