Establishment of information systems for NHS Services: mental health services directions 2015
Directions given by NHS England requiring NHS Digital to establish and operate a system for the collection of information to be known as the mental health services information system.
Purpose
To support the NHS to monitor and plan services effectively for children, young people and adults who are in contact with mental health, learning disabilities or autism spectrum disorder services, and to investigate the impact and coverage of such services at a local level.
Legal basis
Sections 254(1), (3) and (6) of the Health and Social Care Act 2012.
The Directions came into force on 10 August 2015.
