Establishment of Information Systems for NHS Services: Citizen Identity Services
NHS England has directed NHS Digital to establish and operate a system for the collection of information to be known as citizen identity services.
Purpose
To establish and operate a system for the collection of the information described in sub-paragraph (2) from relevant organisations and citizens, such system to be known as the NHS Citizen Identity Services Information.
Legal basis
Sections 254(1), (3) and (6) and 254(5) of the Health and Social Care Act 2012.
The Directions came into force on 16 July 2016.
