Introduction

Google has released an updated version of Chrome for Windows, Mac, and Linux to address a high severity vulnerability. The vulnerability known as CVE-2022-1096 exists due to a type confusion error within the V8 component in Chromium, affecting all Chromium-based browsers.

An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to take control of an affected system. CISA have added this zero-day vulnerability to their Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog as it is being actively exploited in the wild.
