Microsoft have released out-of-band (OOB) updates to address multiple issues that were discovered after installation of the January 2022 Security Updates. Problems affecting some versions of Windows include VPN connectivity, Windows Server Domain Controllers restarting, Virtual Machines start failures, and ReFS-formatted removable media failing to mount.
These out-of-band updates include the January 2022 Security Updates and therefore can be applied to remediate a range of vulnerabilities, including some critical ones.

Some of the updates will show up as an optional update, but others must be installed via Microsoft Update Catalog. Please review the entry for 17 Jan 2022 in Windows Message Center's Recent Announcements for more information.
