HPE has released a firmware update to address an abnormal drive failure issue in a number of their server and storage (SAS) solid-state drive (SSD) products. Affected products will fail after 40,000 total operational hours, resulting in total data loss.

The following platforms are known to be affected:
- HPE SAS SSD models:
- EK0800JVYPN
- EO1600JVYPP
- MK0800JVYPQ
- MO1600JVYPR
Threat details
This issue is not related to the failure rate issue identified in November 2019 and detailed in CC-3301.
