Threat details
Ransomnix uses AES 256 encryption to encrypt files on the server including databases and server configuration files. The ransomware can also alter the meta tags making the server inoperable. After this it will deliver the ransom note to the root directory of the server.

Please ensure web servers using WordPress are running on the most recent version. If a device on your network becomes infected with ransomware it will begin encrypting local machine files and files on any network the logged-in user has permission to access.
