Threat details
This malware typically spreads via social engineering methods such as direct messages from compromised Twitter accounts, both towards specific targets and on a mass scale. Other methods of distribution include phishing and using infected versions of the Skype Windows desktop client and Usoris Remote Utilities Remote Desktop Client.
When Mdrop is executed it creates registry entries to ensure it will run every time Windows starts up. It then installs more malware onto the compromised device.
