Summary

Cisco has released details of a vulnerability affecting their FindIT network discovery tool that may allow an authenticated local user to perform a dynamic-link library (DLL) pre-loading attack.

Threat details

The vulnerability is due to the application loading a malicious copy of a specific DLL file instead of the file it was expecting. An attacker could then exploit this by placing an affected DLL within the search path of the system.
