Threat details

Frauder will drop malicious files on the affected host and edit registry settings to gain persistence. The malware is highly resource intensive which dramatically reduces the performance of the affected host and can even disrupt the basic functioning of the system. This has been the most common symptom shown by affected systems.

The Frauder malware can infiltrate further malware parasites onto the affected host and is capable of allowing an attacker remote access to the system. Frauder has the ability to monitor a user's online activity, collect sensitive information such as bank details and confidential documents.

  • All operating systems, antivirus and other security products are kept up to date.
  • All day-to-day computer activities such as email and internet are performed using non-administrative accounts.
  • Network, proxy and firewall logs should be monitored for suspicious activity.
