Summary

VMware has released security updates to address vulnerabilities in Airwatch Agent, Airwatch Console, and AirWatch Inbox software for Android.

Threat details

Exploitation of one of these vulnerabilities could allow a remote attacker to take control of an affected device.

VMware AirWatch provide enterprise mobility management software and standalone management systems for content, applications and email on mobile devices.

Airwatch Agent for Android contains a vulnerability that allows a device to bypass root detection. Successful exploitation of this issue results in an enrolled device having unrestricted access over local Airwatch security controls and data.

Airwatch Inbox for Android and Console for Android contains a vulnerability that allows a rooted device to decrypt the local data used by the application. Successful exploitation of this issue results in an unauthorised disclosure of confidential data.
