Our response

This is not a count of people, as the same person could be admitted to hospital on more than one occasion. Please also note that data where the age and sex are unknown have not been included in these data.

Because the data are aggregated against the presence of a given ICD-10 code in any of the 20 available primary or secondary diagnosis fields, it is possible for an episode of care to be counted in two separate groups where more than one eating disorder has been recorded.

Data from April 2021 onwards is provisional.
