I am new to the Terminology Server and expect to use it as a source of information

Learn how to manage your account, learn the basics of authoring FHIR terminology resources, and discover how different roles affect what you can see and do with the terminology server.

The Terminology Server stores information in the HL7 FHIR® (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) standard format and is accessed using FHIR® ReSTful APIs. More information about how NHS England use FHIR® can be found in the NHS England FHIR® API website.

As such, we recommend that you first take an overview of Terminology Server, then learn about FHIR® resources. The FHIR training is aimed at people wanting to author FHIR® resources but understanding how these resources are constructed should help you to understand how to use them so this will be time well spent.

Once you have viewed this training, go on to register for an account on the NHS England Terminology Server and start to explore. If you want to know more about the different user roles that can be applied to a user’s account, take a look at the System-level and Community Roles training.
