National Breast Screening

Summary

BS Select and the BS Information System are browser-based applications that support National Breast Screening services in England.

Breast Screening Select

Breast screening (BS) Select is a browser-based application that's used to manage the call and recall of women in England who are eligible for breast screening.

The process of selecting women for call and recall is controlled by creating a batch of eligible screening subjects (these batches can be based upon a defined recall interval/safety period, or the woman's next test due date). Each batch type is created using specific parameters, which include include age range, date of birth, locality and GP practice.

Using BS Select you can flag subjects as potentially being at a higher risk from breast cancer, add episodes to a subject's screening history, or cease subjects from the system. You can also produce reports, view contact lists and customise parameters for your local breast screening office.

Note: women in England are called for screening using BS Select. Women in Northern Ireland and Wales are called for screening use the NHAIS Breast Screening System.

  • produce reports for both radiology and KC62 returns
  • add, view and edit film readers
