National Health Application and Infrastructure Services (NHAIS): More services

Summary

GMS Census Download

Systems and Service Delivery (SSD) extracts GP, partnership, patient and payment details from the National Health Applications and Infrastructure Services (NHAIS) systems. These NHAIS systems are run by service agencies throughout England, Wales and Isle of Man.

The extract is initiated at the close of each quarter and transferred internally to NHS Digital, where an annual extract is undertaken at the end of September each year.

These extracts form a census of GPs on a GMS contract.

Data Centre Hosting

Organisations providing family health services can choose to have their systems hosted and maintained by SSD using the Hosted NHAIS, rather than provide them locally.

The Hosted NHAIS Service is fully monitored and maintained on a 24/7 basis and supported by the SSD help desk on weekdays between 8am to 5pm.

Calculating Quality Reporting Service Bureau

The Calculating Quality Reporting Service (CQRS) bureau ensures that information regarding Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) details, practice details, practice patient counts and additional services opt outs from NHAIS systems is extracted for use by the CQRS programme.

The calculation service is provided by a third party who send the payment details to SSD for processing through the NHAIS payments service.

Prescription Pricing Division Data

SSD provide application support, maintenance and hosting of the Prescription Pricing Divisional Data Service.

Cytology statistics

Cytology Statistics provides information to the Department of Health to support their monitoring of the cervical cancer screening programme.
