Coronavirus (COVID-19) message in SCR

To help the NHS to respond to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, specific COVID-19 information was added to the Summary Care Records (SCRs)

If a patient’s SCR contained COVID-19 diagnosis information, a yellow message box alert was triggered on the record. 

The frequency with which this message can alert regarding a patient currently or recently having had COVID-19 has reduced with changes to the national testing programme and as the pandemic has evolved.

The yellow message box alert has been removed, but all the patient’s information about COVID-19 will continue to be available within the SCR.
