Creating a new NHS England: Health Education England, NHS Digital and NHS England have merged. More about the merger.

SCRa access using Internet Explorer

Important information about Internet Explorer and access to Summary Care Record application (SCRa) and National Care Records Service (NCRS).

SCRA will not work using Internet Explorer after 22 June 2023

You should switch now to a modern browser and use NCRS, the improved successor to SCRa.

From 29 September 2023, SCRa will no longer be available.

In June 2022, we advised that Internet Explorer (IE) would no longer be supported by Microsoft or NHS England (previously NHS Digital). If you are still using IE 7, 8, 9 or 10 to access NHS England’s national web based services, you must switch now to a modern alternative such as Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome.

Using unsupported systems makes your organisation more vulnerable to cyber security threats and it is more likely that you will experience performance or reliability issues.

NCRS does not work in Internet Explorer (IE) or in IE compatibility mode

As IE is no longer supported, NCRS was not developed to work on this browser.

From 29 September 2023, SCRa will no longer be available. If you fail to move to a supported browser, such as Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome, your organisation will not be able to access patient information through NCRS.
