Roll out of integrated acoustic monitoring technology with digital care planning.

Description

An integrated solution of the Ally Resident Acoustic Monitoring and KareInn Electronic Care Planning system to reduce care home falls and hospital admissions. Delivered by combining data and using artificial intelligence to provide context and suggest recommendations to staff during handovers.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the project also incorporated day time monitoring to pick up on increased coughing / respiratory issues and a family wellbeing portal.


Products

  1. KareInn Well Being Portal - Families are kept informed during reduced visitation periods and everyone is kept up-to-date with relevant care information, photos and daily updates.
  2. Integration of Ally Acoustic Monitoring with KareInn Digital Care Planning Management system.  
  3. Sleep Handover Tool - combine the data in Ally Acoustic Monitoring and KareInn Electronic Care Planning to provide context and suggest recommendations to staff during handovers. Hypothesis is to have an impact on reducing care home falls.
  4. Published paper detailing the integrated solution have improved quality of life for service users and have created an ROI for service users, Friends of the Elderly and the NHS. Paper will include the integration approach, findings, key recommendations for other software providers.
  5. Published commercial offer for care home sector.
  6. Recommended changes to information agreements and consents based in order to implement the service.

Scale during programme

The scale was 350 service users.

One of the main objectives of the pathfinder projects was that any other communities that might wish to adopt a similar approach should not be charged a second time by the supplier for the same software development costs (although reasonable implementation and maintenance could of course be levied).
