Remote Clinical Desktop

The national Remote Clinical Desktop (RCD) is a virtual desktop designed to be downloaded on a Windows PC or Apple Mac to provide an alternative way for primary care staff to access their clinical systems remotely. 

The Remote Clinical Desktop (RCD) private beta has now ended and the service is no longer available. These pages are no longer being updated. 


About the Remote Clinical Desktop

The RCD has been created in response to coronavirus (COVID-19) as a solution for out-of-hospital staff to work remotely if they can't work at their usual workplace. 

It provides remote access to the following systems: 

  • TPP SystmOne 
  • EMIS Web 
  • Vision 3
  • Docman version 10 
  • AccuRx (for booking)
  • Adastra (Citrix client and ClickOnce Smart Client)

It will also allow access to Microsoft Office and some Spine services, including:
