Oberthur Series 8 Smartcards cache clearance

NHS Digital will be making available an application for use by end users to assist with the issue of users getting the “Problem reading Smartcard” message following either a renew or repair of a Series 8 Smartcard. This issue intermittently affects users of Series 8 Smartcards who also have Oberthur middleware installed (any version). The tool clears the middleware cache to make the system forget the card and do a re-read of all content on the card. The tool is designed to be simple to use and does not require admin rights to run.
