Monitoring your information to adjust your lifestyle

“Recently I was alerted to an increased risk of a hereditary heart condition and used the NHS App to check my last scan results from 2019. Having access to my test results means that I can monitor my health progress, including my blood pressure and prostate-specific antigen levels.

I like having access to the same information as my health professionals. Having this information makes me more conscious of important signs to be aware of.

“If you’ve got information, this can be quite powerful. You can use it to your advantage, and it makes you more aware. I think it would probably make the GP more conscious that you were looking at these sorts of things and adjusting lifestyle accordingly.”

Making life easier

The app also saves Stephen a lot of time and avoidable interactions with his GP surgery.

I can check my health history, view test results and order repeat prescriptions via the NHS App. It’s very intuitive to use and useful to access a summary of my treatment, medication and my care plan.
