Online access to GP records patient case studies: Jayne's story

Find out how Jayne’s uses the NHS app to help her recover from her injuries. Having a serious accident made Jayne realise the benefits of having access to her GP records.

Jayne's story

Jayne broke her neck and arm in a serious accident. At home in Hertfordshire, she uses the App to keep on track of her treatment for pain management and carpal tunnel syndrome.

I use the NHS App frequently to access my GP health records, including test results and immunisations, as well as order repeat prescriptions and to message my GP.

It saves me and my GP a lot of time. I can view notes from my appointments which helps me check and I can say if don’t agree with something which is really reassuring.

Accessing my health record has helped with my care

Accessing my health records via the app means that I’m able to discuss and make decisions about my treatments and care together with my GP, instead of just listening to what they say. My GP recently messaged me via the app with options following my test results for carpal tunnel syndrome and now I feel well informed and able to choose a treatment option.
