Aurora's story

Both my husband and I are carers for his parents, who are now quite elderly. English isn’t their first language, so I have access to their health records via the NHS App. That way I can see test results and what the GP has discussed with them in appointments.

It’s really very helpful to have all the information in one place. It saves time and avoids unnecessary calls and trips to the GP surgery as we see what the GP is recommending, or the reason for their next consultation with their GP, and support both my Mum and Dad to understand their care.

My Mum also has anxiety so the App notifications about test results and appointments come to me, which helps to reduce the stress she feels.

I also use the NHS App to view my test results, look at the letters between my GP and the hospital, book GP appointments and order repeat prescriptions. It saves a lot of time, which is important as we are busy working full-time.
