Organisation Links (Orglinks) allows health authorities to grant other registered organisations electronic access to patient identity details, including GP information. It's part of the core NHAIS system.
An organisation can register with a Health Authority (HA) as having a legitimate interest in the HA's patients' details. Once they have been authorised, the organisation may submit enquiries on patient details to the HA. The HA can determine which information will be released to the organisation, and which will be withheld.
Enquiries can be sent using various methods, including batches sent electronically over N3, via tape devices, via UNIX upload, or by manually entering batch enquiries.
