Advice for new iViewPlus users and those wishing to register

Getting started

iViewPlus is a free to use interactive data visualisation tool which is being developed by NHS Digital to allow users quick and easy access to health and social care data. Registered users can design, visualise, save, export and share queries using Query Designer, Query Manager, Dashboard Designer and Dashboard Manager tools.

To access iViewPlus you need to register and create an NHS Digital account. This service is free. Access to some iViewPlus data sets will be restricted to authorised users only as each data area has its own rules about who can access their data. Once you have successfully registered, you'll be able to access the data sets you have been authorised to view.

There are 2 data sets currently available in iViewPlus:

  • Mental health services
  • Maternity services

More data sets will be added soon.

Development of iViewPlus is ongoing. New features and functionality are released regularly and are available to all registered users.

If you've forgotten your sign-in details, username or password, visit the NHS Digital account sign-in page and follow the instructions on screen.

Guidance, training and support

You can find advice and support in our iViewPlus user guide.

Each data set will also have a dedicated homepage in iViewPlus, where you will be able to find more information about the data you have accessed. For specific enquiries you're welcome to speak to us or make an appointment to visit NHS Digital in Leeds by calling our contact centre on 0300 303 5678 or emailing

Using iViewPlus

To view data in iViewPlus select the Query Designer tab from the iViewPlus toolbar to see data sets you are authorised to view. You'll then be able to make selections to design a data query and view results. Further information on how to use iViewPlus is available in the iViewPlus user guide.

Use of data in iViewPlus is subject to restrictions and you must accept NHS Digital's Terms and Conditions before you can access data.
