The Interoperability Toolkit (ITK) release 2 specifications are available for download by registering on our distribution portal TRUD. By registering interest in the ITK distribution packs we will keep you informed when changes or new releases become available.
Four specification packs are required, in addition to each of the themes:

|Clinical Correspondence||Clinical Correspondence - specifications for the exchange of a variety of clinical documents, including discharge summaries and outpatient letters. The specification details how HL7 Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) is constructed, together with the templates and code sets expected within the document.||Interoperability Correspondence|
|Telehealth Personal Health Monitoring||PHMR supports the exchange of summary monitoring data between a Telehealth remote monitoring management system and a clinical record.||Telehealth Domain Message Specifications|
|Health and Social Care Integration||Personalised assessment and care and support planning process, supported by information sharing between NHS and social care IT systems. This includes Assessment with Care and Support Planning, Hospital Discharge Notifications to Social Care and NHS Continuing Healthcare.||Health and Social Care Integration Domain Message Specification|
|Clinical Dashboards||Support of transmission of commissioning/performance data including measurements of quality of patient care, performance monitoring, operational effectiveness, clinical outcomes and patient experience.||Interoperability Dashboards|
|Admission, Discharge and Transfer (ADT HL7v2)||Implementation and accreditation of the ITK 2 specifications for the transfer of admission, discharge and transfer administrative information. Traditionally found in PAS to departmental system interfaces.||ITK HL7 V2 Message Specification|
|Spine Mini Services||Spine Mini Services specifications define interaction with NHS National Services (Spine). This includes, for example, services that allow interaction with the Personal Demographic Services (PDS).||ITK Spine Mini Services|
|Child Screening||A Domain Message Specification to carry the results of child screening tests. Currently the message supports blood spot screening|
|Notifications||Notification to patients as part of co-ordinating care of key events/changes to care plan, or unscheduled care encounter for patients||Notifications Domain Message Specification|
|Document Retrieval||System document retrieval for remote systems and repositories when required after notification about events or changes to key patient information.||Document Retrieval Domain Message Specification|
|End of Life Care Document||This is a standard clinical (CDA) document to allow the sending of end of life care preferences as defined in the national information standard for electronic palliative care co-ordination: ISB1580.||End of Life Domain Message Specification|
