You can use Care Identity Management (CIM) to complete most tasks.

If you still need to use the legacy Care Identity Service application to complete some tasks, you can read guidance on how to use the application.

Note: the ability to unlock smartcards was removed from the legacy Care Identity Service application on 31 January 2024. You must use CIM if you need to unlock a user's smartcard.
