Learning disabilities health check scheme

Background

This service is an enhanced service that is agreed with the General Practitioners committee of the BMA. This service will support delivery and payment of the service. It will also provide important activity data which will support future commissioning decisions made by NHS England.

CQRS performs a check against the practice's local learning disability register to ensure that practices cannot claim for more learning disability health checks than there are patients on their local learning disability register.

Purpose and outline

In 2018/19 GP practices will be entitled to a quarterly health check completion payment as agreed by the contractual negotiations comprising £140.00 for each patient aged 14 or over in the financial year on the practices agreed learning disabilities register who received a compliant health check delivered by the practice in that quarter. Only one payment may be made as regards to any patient in any one financial year.

On CQRS there are two inputs for this enhanced service:

  1. LD001 input number: The number of those patients aged 14 years or over in the financial year on the practice's agreed learning disabilities register who received a completed health check by the practice in this quarter.
  2. LD001 maximum: The number of patients aged 14 years or over in the financial year on the practice's agreed learning disabilities register
