Strategy
The vision is for the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) to be available for use by all prescribers for all prescriptions in all care settings.
Our main technical objectives and priorities are:

Roadmap
The project roadmap outlines crucial project stages, objectives and timelines that we are researching or planning to deliver in coming months.
Its aim is to make it easier to understand and encourage teams to work together to improve patient care and service delivery.

- EPS FHIR Prescribing API – Adding new prescription types to EPS FHIR API for prescribing (e.g. FP10MDA).
- EPS FHIR Prescribing API – Supporting suppliers to upgrade prescription signing to SHA-256.
- EPS FHIR Dispensing API – Adding new prescription types to EPS FHIR API for prescribing (e.g. FP10MDA).
- EPS FHIR Dispensing API – Supporting suppliers to upgrade prescription signing to SHA-256.
- FHIR Prescriptions for Patients API - Supporting national roll out of the digital prescription in the NHS App.
- FHIR Prescriptions for Patients API - Making the API available for supplier onboarding.
- National Prescription Tracking Service for Patients – Requirements gathering and working with dispensing suppliers to design the solution.
- Clinical Prescription Tracking – Gathering requirements for replacement of the internet facing clinical tracking API.
- National Prescription Tracking Service for Patients – Developing and piloting the solution in the NHS App before making available to third party suppliers.
- Clinical Prescription Tracking – Building the new API and integrating the new internet facing API with the National Care Record Service to eventually replace the existing Prescription Tracker User Interface.
- Clinical Prescription Tracking – Modernising the service, making it internet facing and adhering to accessibility standards.
