National Population Failsafe Management Service
The National Failsafe Management Service (NPFMS) is a digital system for population tracking and screening.
This service was never launched. It was removed from the programme scope in April 2020.
About this service
This service is part of the wider National Events Management Service (NEMS).
The service uses information from NEMS to tell systems where a child is and which professionals are caring for them.
It prompts parents about important health interventions for their child and guides professionals to deliver the standard programme of care. The system sends alerts to subscribers if actions are not completed.
Implementation guides
The NPFM implementation guide explains the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resource (FHIR) components needed to fulfil the data item requirements of:
- the National Failsafe Alert
- the National Failsafe Alert Nullify Request
