Implementation process for healthcare organisations

Our regional implementation managers work closely with healthcare organisations and local authorities to guide and support them through the CP-IS implementation process.

The process varies between healthcare organisations and depends on the IT systems and working practices that are currently used, and much more.

Implementing CP-IS in health involves six crucial areas of work:

  1. Project management, stakeholder engagement and governance (tasks 1-7)
  2. Technical (tasks 8-15)
  3. Business change (tasks 16-21)
  4. Information governance (task 22)
  5. Communication and engagement (tasks 23 and 24)
  6. Go live/managing the live service (tasks 25-29)

More detail on these tasks is set out in our step-by-step guide for implementing CP-IS in health settings.

Also useful is our CP-IS NCRS user guide. Use and adapt this to help train staff before going live with CP-IS or when new staff join your organisation

Our implementation managers hold a range of detailed guidance documents to help support organisations through the implementation process. We can also put you in touch with organisations that have been through the process.
