Production schedule

Here are our publication release dates, along with information about the different types of release that we publish.

ODS release schedule

This table gives the dates for the upcoming ODS publication releases.

The cut-off date is the deadline for submitting new site code requests to ODS for them to be included in the following release. Any codes allocated after the cut-off will not be published until the subsequent release.

We provide 2 types of releases:

Quarterly

For February, May, August and November we produce a full quarterly release, containing the full suite of our products, changes made since the previous reduced release, changes made since the previous full release and comprehensive lists of all organisations.

The full release also contains data from our counterparts within the various home countries, along with data received from the ONS.

Monthly

For the remaining months, we produce a reduced release which will only contain the changes made since the previous release. This type of release excludes any updates to Home Countries data and ONS data.

Any future changes to this schedule will be publicised three months in advance of it coming into effect. This notification will happen via the ODS quarterly newsletter and within a news item published on the ODS home page.

Users requesting code updates to be visible within systems that are not updated directly through the release files, such as NHSmail, HSCN (N3) should note that these dates correspond to the publication of our data through the TRUD service, and may have no bearing on when you will see updates in these systems.

If detail of the related system for which the change is intended is provided within the request, then a suitable time frame will be provided upon completion of the request as to when the update will be visible.

If you have any queries, please contact the appropriate helpdesk.

Changes will be visible within ODS distribution functions as shown below.

ODS API at 2am

ODS Portal at 4.30am

ODS DataPoint at 6.30am

7 July 2022

CSV monthly amendments-only files (published on the monthly updates ODS web page)
Filenames: egpam.csv for GP Practices, eccgam.csv for Sub ICB Locations, and eotheram.csv for ICBs

Eccgam.csv and eotheram.csv are contained within the compressed file eamendam.zip. These extracts are amendment records for the corresponding full files eccg.csv and eother.csv which are published quarterly and may be found on their corresponding data downloads page, as linked.

Egpam.csv contains amendment records for both egpcur.csv (Practitioners) and epraccur.csv (GP Practices) which are published quarterly and may be found on their corresponding data downloads page.

XML monthly release (published via TRUD)

If you need data in the production CSV file format prior to its scheduled publication release date (7 July), you can use ODS DataPoint application to generate a pre-defined report. This will allow you to export data that replicates the content and layout of the most commonly used ODS CSV files.
