HSE – Health Survey for England annual seminar webinar

Event description

The Health Survey for England (HSE) is an annual survey which has been carried out since 1991. The 2020 survey was suspended in March 2020 due to lockdown restrictions in place during the pandemic.

During this period, alternative analysis, using historic HSE data was carried out which was released in 2022, namely:

  • ethnicity and health 2011-2019, and
  • predicting height, weight, and BMI from self-reported data 2011 to 2019

The 2021 survey was launched in January 2021 using online and telephone interviewing; face-to-face interviewing was gradually introduced as lockdown restrictions were lifted.

The seminar will cover:

  • the additional analysis using historic HSE data (released in 2022)
  • the 2021 survey and subsequent report
  • how prediction equations were used in the 2021 report
  • the 2022 survey including content and reporting

It will conclude with an update on future plans for HSE.
