API management online roadshow - March 2023

Interoperability is still the big unsolved problem for health and social care.

We, the API management team at NHS England, don't pretend to have solved that problem, but over the past 3 years we've been trying our best to make integration easier with our new API platform.

But that's no use unless technical folk in health and social care know what we've done and can start taking advantage of it. We're on a mission to spread the word.

Our API roadshow is a non-technical webinar that answers the following questions:

• what actually is an API?
• why are they important for health and social care technology?
• what does a good API look like?
• what is the NHS England API platform and how does it help?
• what APIs are available and what do they do?
• any other questions you have

The session is for anyone working in health and social care technology for the NHS in England, including:

• technology people in end-user organisations, such as NHS trusts or social care settings
• people building healthcare software
• Chief Information Officers (CIOs), Chief Technology Officers (CTOs), managers, architects, product owners, business analysts, developers, testers and anyone else
