The 22nd MHSDS webinar will take place on Tuesday 8 June 2021 at 2pm to 3pm.
This webinar is for all Mental Health Service Providers and will follow up on the topic of Out of Area Placements (OAPs) from late 2020. The Government set a national ambition to eliminate inappropriate OAPs in mental health services for adults in acute inpatient care by 2020-21. Inappropriate OAPs are where patients are sent out of area because no bed is available for them locally, which is associated with poor patient experience and outcomes.
At present OAPs are captured and reported upon via the Clinical Audit Platform (CAP) and the Mental Health Services Dataset (MHSDS), creating unnecessary burden for providers. This webinar will revisit the importance of submitting OAPs data, the process for submitting OAPs data from a sender and a receiver perspective, which providers are submitting data to CAP but not to MHSDS, discrepancies between the two submissions and cases where providers are incorrectly classifying admissions as OAPs.
Bookings for this webinar are now live, and you can book onto this webinar using this link or the Book Now button above. The webinar will be recorded with Q&A available at the end of the presentation.
