NHS Digital has today announced the appointment of Pete Rose as the new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the health and care system and its new Deputy CEO.
Pete will be responsible for running all of NHS Digital’s live services, solutions assurance and internal cyber security in addition to supporting organisations across health and care to bolster their own information security in his role as the system’s CISO.
Pete brings nearly 30 years of experience in delivering mission-critical digital and technology services, programmes and business change, primarily to the defence, security and public safety sectors. He is currently Director of Enterprise Services and Deputy Chief Digital, Data and Technology Officer at the Home Office and his career has included senior roles in both public and private sector, following time in the Royal Air Force. He is a Chartered Engineer with a background focused on leading technology operations, resilience and cyber security alongside delivering complex infrastructure programmes.
Pete starts his new role on 4 May and until then interim arrangements are in place with existing staff.
