NHS Digital scooped a top innovation award at the Digital Leaders 100 awards last night.
The National Record Locator team swept home in the Public Service Innovation of the Year category, narrowly scooping the gong ahead of NHS Digital’s NHS111 online team.
The service has been set up to allow clinicians and NHS organisations securely locate and access patient records across the healthcare system.
Already it has been used in ambulance services and mental health trusts to help paramedics better treat people who are experiencing a mental health crisis.

“The hard work that has gone into developing the National Record Locator has had a real positive impact of frontline staff and patients, all who benefit from better clinical decision-making thanks to the ability to make better and richer patient information to those at the forefront of delivering care.
