An NHS Digital spokesperson said: “A technical issue within BT systems affected the Health and Social Care Network overnight from 10.25pm. The issue was investigated and service was restored by 5.30am this morning.
“The issue prevented users from accessing some NHS systems during this period. NHS Digital is working with organisations and suppliers to confirm that services are fully restored, and that any residual impact on health and care systems is addressed.
“NHS Digital is now working with suppliers and affected organisations to investigate the root cause of the technical issue, and ensure that all necessary steps are taken to prevent a re-occurrence.“
