NHS Digital has today published for the first time experimental statistics analysing data from Pathways1 NHS111 calls linked to Hospital Episode Statistics.
The data analysis covers:
- Pathways NHS111 calls in England during 2018 where an NHS number was recorded
- Pathways NHS111 calls that resulted in patients being advised to attend an Emergency Department (including A&E, Urgent Treatment Centre or Walk-in Centre) and subsequent attendance within 48 hours of the call
- The first post-call attendance at an Emergency Department if multiple attendances were recorded
- Subsequent hospital admissions.
The analysis includes breakdowns by sex and by age group.
The report does not cover:
- NHS 111 online journeys
- Symptom data
- Associated costs
