During the risk assessment standardised tests are used to measure key risk factors and establish the individual’s risk of developing cardiovascular disease. The outcome of the assessment is then used to raise awareness of cardiovascular risk factors, as well as inform a discussion on, and agreement of, the lifestyle and medical approaches best suited to managing the individual’s health risk.
  3. Numbers are rounded to the nearest thousand.
  4. Figures covering financial year 2012-13 exclude patients aged 69 and over.
  5. Figures covering financial years 2013-14 - 2017-18 exclude patients aged 70 and over.
  6. NHS Digital acting on behalf of Public Health England has collected NHS Health Check data that has been recorded by use of a clinical code in a patient’s electronic record within their registered GP practice.
  7. Today’s report is the initial release from a collaborative project between NHS Digital and Public Health England. Future publications will be released by Public Health England and will report the data in more detail.
