New framework launched to help NHS and public sector organisations manage cyber threats

A cyber security services framework has been launched for the NHS and public sector, which can be used to procure external support and services to help manage cyber security risks, increase resilience, and recover in the event of an incident.

A cyber security services framework has been launched for the NHS and public sector, which can be used to procure external support and services to help manage cyber security risks, increase resilience, and recover in the event of an incident.

The framework has been developed in partnership with NHS Digital and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and NHS Shared Business Services. It has been designed to complement services already available from NHS Digital's Data Security Centre.

It enables organisations to bring in additional resource to do such work as implement solutions, carry out security testing, provide consultancy and recover from incidents.

Access is available to 25 carefully selected suppliers from a highly specialised marketplace and is supported and approved by NHS Digital.

Dan Jeffery, NHS Digital’s Head of Innovation, Delivery and Business Operations,  said: “This new framework will give NHS and other public sector organisations confidence that they are buying quality cyber security services from trusted suppliers, and a sustainable route to market for organisations who want to improve their cyber security posture.

“It will provide further options, alongside NHS Digital’s central offering, for organisations to procure support which is bespoke and relevant to them, so that they can continue to keep patient data safe and secure and deliver world class patient care.

“We will continue to work with partners such as the NCSC to support organisations to safeguard against malicious attacks.”
