The NHS Digital Clinical Informatics Congress is a key event for frontline clinical leaders with an interest in health informatics to meet, network and learn about the latest developments around clinical informatics.
Taking place on Wednesday 26 September, this free-to-attend congress is hosted by the Clinical Leadership Team at NHS Digital and NHS England and co-located with the UK Health Show at ExCeL London.
The Clinical Informatics Congress is the only event officially led by NHS Digital and NHS England that focuses on the strategic direction of clinical informatics and development of clinical informaticians across health and social care.
The event will feature high level discussion from NHS leadership on policy and strategy for the widespread adoption of clinical informatics. It will be complimented by practical workshops featuring local case studies that will give delegates the knowledge and understanding to take back to their organisations and start enacting real change.
Key topics and themes
The full agenda will be published shortly, however key topics and themes will include:
- the current position of the 2020 Domains
- NHS England and NHS Digital developments on the current Government’s broader digitisation agenda
- NHS Digital’s Data Repository and Access role
- updates and training available on the role of clinical safety in frontline informatics
- NHS approved apps and medical devices including the new Patient Online Portal
- the new Faculty of Clinical Informatics, the Digital Academy and Global Digital Exemplars
The Congress will also highlight current and new funding streams for digital transformation, as well as opportunities to explore career options in health informatics locally, regionally and nationally.
Attendees will meet the Chief Clinical Information Officer for England, the Chief Medical Officer and Clinical Leadership Teams from NHS Digital, the new Faculty of Clinical Informatics and Global Digital Exemplars.
There will also be leadership from the rapidly evolving cyber security space, local and regional innovators and entrepreneurs in health informatics.
