We use icons to help people understand our work and bring its impact alive. We use a style which is simple, clear and accessible.

This helps us communicate instructions and information across a range of platforms and media.

Our icon style

If you are a member of staff, you can access the icons in your PowerPoint app or on the communications pages of our intranet. 

How we use icons

We use icons for a range of purposes, including:

  • infographics - highlighting facts visually
  • internet navigation - icons are an essential element of digital design and navigation on websites. Where space for copy is limited, icons can be useful as shorthand.
  • diagrams and schematics - Powerpoint presentations

Retired icon library

Our previous icon library has been decommissioned and is no longer used by NHS England. Other NHS organisations may continue to use the icons by downloading the .zip file below.

These icons are available in .png format only. They are grouped by theme and available in blue, white and yellow.
