National Diabetes Audit, Diabetes Prevention Programme (DPP), Quarterly Data Release, 1st January – 30th June 2020.

Audit, Survey, Other reports and statistics

Summary

The NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (DPP) is a joint commitment from NHS England, Public Health England (PHE) and Diabetes UK to deliver, at scale, evidence based behavioural interventions that can prevent or delay the onset of Type 2 diabetes in adults who have been identified as having non-diabetic hyperglycaemia.

This report presents the national audit findings, summarising registration and demographic information on people registered in GP Practices in England who have non-diabetic hyperglycaemia. Also presented are the numbers of people recorded in GP practices as having been offered DPP behavioural change courses up to the end of June 2020, and the numbers that have declined, or not declined, to attend these courses. Non-diabetic hyperglycaemia involves blood glucose levels that are above normal levels, but not in the diabetic range.

The report is for England only.

Update 8 March 2021: An error was identified in the original published data. On the ‘DPP courses’ tab of the excel file, data for three CCGs from the previous quarter was duplicated. These entries have now been removed. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.
