DCB0155: Stop Smoking Services Quarterly Monitoring Return

Collecting data to monitor the delivery and impact of local Stop Smoking Services.

About this data collection

The Stop Smoking Services Quarterly Monitoring Return collects data on local services provided to support people to stop smoking. The data is used to monitor the performance and effectiveness of the service and feeds into a number of other data reporting mechanisms, including the local tobacco control profiles data set. The data is published as an official statistic by NHS Digital.

DCB0155 Amd 80/2015 was approved by the Data Coordination Board (DCB) on 15 August 2017; an extension to the collection was approved by the DCB on 25 October 2018.

In October 2018 it was identified that a national code had been omitted from one of the NHS Data Model and Dictionary data items used in the collection. As a result, a Data Dictionary Change Notice has been issued to add National Code 22 - 'Hospital Setting' to attribute INTERVENTION SETTING TYPE FOR STOP SMOKING.

Note that this amendment to the NHS Data Model and Dictionary does not change the published standard DCB0155 Amd 80/2015.
