Purpose

This guidance gives the specifications for the Short and Long Term Return (SALT).

The collections have taken account of a range of feedback and there have been revisions to plans at various points. Overview

The SALT data collection is a set of measures co-produced with stakeholders. It has two main sections, relating to requests for social care support and provision of short term support (described in the guidance as STS measures) and service users and carers receiving eligible support (described as LTS measures).

This SALT document should be read alongside the Adult Social Care collections Data Dictionary, which establishes a set of data standards and timeframes.

The ASC Data Dictionary describes Primary Support Reasons (PSRs) and support settings.

There are no new reporting requirements for SALT in 2021-22.
